When Pain Hits
When Your Mouth Is the Problem, Every Hour Feels Longer
Dental pain isn't like other pain. It throbs through your jaw, climbs into your ear, kills your sleep, and turns simple things like eating, talking, and focusing into impossible tasks. You've already taken the ibuprofen. You've already tried to wait it out. Now you're searching for a dentist who can actually see you, not one who can fit you in three weeks from Tuesday.
That's why we're here. Joshua Dental keeps same-day emergency slots open every day we're in the office, because we know the people calling us aren't planning ahead. They're hurting now.
Why Now Matters
Waiting Doesn't Make a Dental Emergency Smaller
A toothache at 9 a.m. becomes a fever by dinner. A small crack becomes a full break the next time you bite down. An infection that's "just a little swollen" can spread to your jaw, your sinuses, even your bloodstream if it's left long enough.
The ER can give you antibiotics and pain medication, but they cannot fix a tooth. You'll be sent home, told to follow up with a dentist, and the original problem will still be there waiting for you in the morning.
Joshua Dental treats the cause, not just the symptom. When you walk in, you walk out treated, not just numbed.
Your Visit
Here's What Happens When You Call Us Today
Three steps from picking up the phone to walking out of pain.
- 1
Pick up the phone
The person who answers will ask what is going on, and we will get you in the same day in most cases.
- 2
Come in
Free patient parking is right out front, in the plaza near Trader Joe's at 777 S Arroyo Pkwy. Dr. Joshua Lee will see you, take an honest look at what is happening, and walk you through the treatment options before any work starts.
- 3
Get out of pain
We treat the actual cause. That might mean a root canal to save the tooth, an extraction if the tooth is too far gone, drainage and antibiotics for an infection, or a same-day repair for a broken tooth. If you need sedation, we have IV sedation and general anesthesia in-house.
We see most kinds of dental emergencies, including:
- Severe toothaches and abscesses
- Broken, cracked, or chipped teeth
- Knocked-out teeth (call immediately, time matters)
- Wisdom-tooth pain and emergency extractions
- Infections, swelling, and dental trauma
- Lost or loose crowns, fillings, and bridges
Meet Dr. Joshua Lee, DDS
The Dentist You Actually Want in an Emergency
Dr. Joshua Lee is a Pasadena-based DDS trained at NYU College of Dentistry, with a surgical residency through the U.S. Army Medical Department and five years as a dental officer in the U.S. Army. He's a Master of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics (AAIP), and serves as a volunteer adjunct clinical professor at USC's Oral and Maxillofacial Clinic.
What that means for you in an emergency: the person treating you is a surgically trained dentist, not a generalist who has to refer you out. Extractions, sedation, complex repairs, and follow-up care all happen here, with the same dentist, start to finish.
Real People We Got Out of Pain
“Needed emergency work done and they got me in as soon as possible, kind and thorough throughout.”
“Fit me in on short notice for severe pain and made me feel comfortable and cared for.”
